Slayers are human females infused with demon power. Because they can pass for normal humans and females are not general considered more threatening than males, they are extremely dangerous and should never be underestimated. Due to recent events following the collapse of the Hellmouth in Sunnydale, California USA, the rumors of there being more only one or two Slayers has been disproved. At last count, Slayers may number in the thousands and have been sighted world wide.

 

Hunters are often human male rogues who, due to unusual circumstances or misunderstandings, have chosen a life of ridding the earth of our kind with no apology. The often travel alone or occasionally in packs of two or three, but always stick to the back roads and live off the land since human law enforcement prefers not to reveal our kind. Hunters will use any means necessary to kill our kind, including using our own for bait. They also create powerful weapons and secretly share information with one another.

 

Operatives are especially dangerous, trained by governments who refuse to reveal our kind to humans at large for fear of what we (or they) might do about it. These types are not only well trained but possess the latest in weapons, defensive gear, and detection equipment as well as vehicles for making their war with us. Sadly, they may even have been recruited from our ranks. Fortunately, Operatives are often tied up in "red tape" (what humans call their superiors) and are sometimes withdrawn without reason from an area. Operatives have also been known to pursue Slayers and Hunters, which we refer to as a "self-cleaning oven." If they're killing each other, they're leaving us alone.
